Comments on the Draft Project "Adjusting administrative boundaries of Quynh Luu district, establishing Hoang Mai town"
(Baonghean) -This morning, November 29, Nghe An Department of Home Affairs coordinated with Quynh Luu District People's Committee to organize a conference to collect comments on the Draft Project "Adjusting administrative boundaries of Quynh Luu district, establishing Hoang Mai town".
Attending the conference were Ms. Cao Thi Hien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, representatives of provincial departments and branches, leaders of Quynh Luu district, communes and towns located in the town planning area.
The draft project clearly states: the Northeast region of the province has great potential for socio-economic development, is adjacent to the Nam Thanh Bac Nghe economic zone, has an important strategic position in both socio-economic and national defense and security, but there is no urban area with a scale commensurate with the development requirements of the region. Therefore, it is necessary to invest in building a commensurate urban area to create momentum for socio-economic development in the Northeast region of the province. Among the urban areas in the Northeast of Nghe An, Hoang Mai town is one of the most potential urban areas, with favorable conditions to develop into a large, modern urban area. The project clearly states the current socio-economic development status of the district; plans for adjusting administrative boundaries; orientation for socio-economic development of Hoang Mai town and Quynh Luu district until 2015.
Most opinions were in agreement and highly agreed with the contents of the project and agreed that Hoang Mai town would be organized into 11 administrative units including 6 wards and 5 communes on the basis of separating 10 communes of Hoang Mai area, Quynh Luu district with a total area of nearly 17,000 hectares and a population of over 94,000 people.
Receiving the comments, Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs emphasized that adjusting the administrative boundaries of Quynh Luu district to establish Hoang Mai town is an objective necessity. The establishment of Hoang Mai town will form a socio-economic growth pole in the Northeast region of the province, creating a great driving force to promote economic and social development, shifting economic structure, exploiting the potential and advantages of the region, contributing to attracting investment, diversifying advantageous manufacturing and processing industries, building a new rural face of Quynh Luu district to be more prosperous.
