Nghe An's 9-month GRDP ranked 3rd in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

The 9-month GRDP growth rate in Nghe An province is estimated at 8.3%, ranking 16th in the country, 3rd in the North Central and Central Coast regions, 6.27% higher than the same period in 2023.

On the afternoon of October 7, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a press conference on the socio-economic, defense and security situation in the third quarter of 2024. Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the press conference.

Attending the press conference were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, departments, branches and central and local press agencies.

Announcing the outstanding results in the first 9 months of 2024, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Truong said that the 9-month GRDP growth rate in the province is estimated at 8.3%, ranking 16th in the country, 3rd in the North Central and Central Coast regions; 6.27% higher than the same period in 2023.

By the end of September, the whole province had 320/411 communes meeting new rural standards; 101 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 16 communes meeting model new rural standards; 9 district-level units meeting new rural standards.

State budget revenue is estimated at VND 16,921 billion, reaching 106.4% of the estimate, equal to 145.4% of the same period in 2023; of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 15,712 billion, reaching 108.1% of the estimate and equal to 145.1% of the same period in 2023.

Investment attraction activities have achieved positive results. The province has granted 61 new projects and adjusted the total investment capital of 31 projects with a total newly granted and adjusted capital of over VND 35,581 billion, equal to 84.9% of the same period in 2023; of which FDI capital reached over 730 million USD.

As of September 30, the total public investment plan had disbursed VND5,590 billion, reaching 60.26%, ranking 16th nationwide; of which, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province had disbursed more than VND2,406 billion, reaching 49.84%.

The fields of culture - society, ensuring social security continued to receive attention and direction and achieved positive results. Administrative reform work had positive changes. National defense and security continued to be firmly consolidated, social order and safety were ensured; foreign affairs activities were effectively implemented.

In addition, the province's key tasks and key projects have been basically completed. The National Assembly has issued Resolution No. 137 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies; the Prime Minister has issued a Plan to implement the Provincial Planning. Focus on completing important projects and projects to ensure compliance with the set roadmap...

At the press conference, leaders of departments and branches directly answered and exchanged opinions of journalists and reporters related to the suspension of the Vinh Hang Ecological Cemetery Park project in Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen district) invested by Phuc Lac Vien Company Limited - Dai hoa than Hoan vu Nghe An; the progress of construction of the cemetery and crematorium in Dien Loi commune (Dien Chau district); and the handling of water pollution in Quy Hop district.

In addition, the sectors also discussed the results of public investment disbursement; types of extra-budgetary financial funds and their operations; projects behind schedule in Vinh city; the implementation of the policy on planting large timber forests; gasoline prices in the province; policies to support the youth football team of Song Lam Nghe An; the results of the provincial People's Committee's settlement of the case of workers dying from pneumoconiosis; policies on tuition exemption and reduction for students, progress of the National Highway 7 project, etc.

Concluding the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long assigned the Department of Information and Communications to continue synthesizing opinions and questions from journalists and reporters to advise the Provincial People's Committee to assign tasks to departments, branches and sectors to answer specifically.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long also hopes that press agencies, journalists, and reporters will coordinate and accompany the province to effectively implement 9 groups of key tasks and solutions in the last 3 months of 2024.
