H'Hen Nie donated all 600 million VND in prize money to charity.

On December 18, H'Hen Niê had a non-stop schedule. She woke up early to pack her luggage for the flight back to Vietnam at 2 p.m. In the evening, H'Hen continued to meet the press to share about her participation in the Miss Universe 2018 competition in Thailand.

At the event, H'Hen showed off her beauty and figure in a tight dress with her name printed on it. With her top 5 achievement, she received many awards from domestic units, a total of 600 million VND in cash. H'Hen Niê will spend 100% of this money on social and community activities. She wants to fulfill her promise to the village, support scholarships for poor students who overcome difficulties and complete the "Room to Read" project to build more libraries, supporting additional expenses for female students around the world.

At the beginning of the exchange, H'Hen Nie received attention around her limited foreign language ability during the competition. The beauty admitted that English is a big advantage when competing internationally but did not focus on that shortcoming because it easily puts pressure on herself. On the contrary, she proactively communicated whenever possible: "I believe that the friendliness and sincerity radiating from the soul, eyes and smile help me win people's affection. Not to mention, when doing even a small thing in the competition, I always cherish the opportunity and try my best."

Sharing the incident of being criticized by Miss USA - Sarah Rose Summer for "pretending to know English", H'Hen hopes that the audience will have a more generous perspective. The beauty expressed that Sarah has a sociable and cheerful personality and often helps other contestants. During the competition, H'Hen rarely updated the press and social networks so she did not know about the noise. But Miss USA proactively met H'Hen to explain and apologize to help her understand everything.

"We have a beautiful friendship and many beautiful memories throughout the competition. She must have been closely following and caring for her to make such comments. Even when meeting for the first time, Sarah took the initiative to greet and call H'Hen Niê's name correctly. I hope everyone will not criticize Sarah because of a very short video," H'Hen said.

H'Hen's top 5 achievement made her compared to Miss Pham Huong - a beauty expected to shine at Miss Universe 2015 but did not achieve any results. The reigning Miss Universe said that she did not have any comparison or competition, on the contrary, it was her senior who inspired her. "The moment I saw Pham Huong on the Miss Universe 2015 stage, I admired her fighting spirit and her wonderful performance. Each year Miss Universe has different criteria, so the top 5 result is my own luck."

H'Hen Nie revealed that during the competition, Miss Universe 2015 runner-up Le Hang lent her many expensive pieces of jewelry, even unused, to bring to the competition. She confessed that she did not know the name, how to pronounce the brand or the price, but she deeply appreciated her older sister's enthusiasm. During the competition, H'Hen accidentally lost a ring but Le Hang still encouraged her not to worry too much. After the competition ended, Le Hang decided to give all the jewelry to H'Hen because she appreciated her junior's efforts and the proud achievement for Vietnam.

Miss Universe Vietnam confided that she is not worried that using luxury goods in the contest goes against the values ​​she aspires to: "Maybe I started from a difficult background, so when I became a beauty queen I did not enter the luxury goods race, but that does not mean I spend all day telling stories about my poverty. Investing in fashion style helps me show a neat and impressive image as a national representative in international competitions. As for my nature, it will always be the same, there is no need to embellish it."

H'Hen Niê admitted that she did not fully understand the "Me Too" movement in the top 5 behavioral question because she did not have many opportunities to update information. "I do not fully understand what I want to do with that movement, so I try to answer in the aspect of speaking up to protect and condemn women." In addition, H'Hen said that Miss Universe will be the last beauty pageant she will compete in, she looks forward to sharing her experiences to help representatives in the following years achieve higher results.
