The installation of a wireless internet access system for Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) has officially begun since the first week of April and is expected to end on April 20, right before Quang Ninh organizes Ha Long Tourism Week 2012 and the ceremony to receive the title of Ha Long Bay as a new natural wonder of the world. Covering wifi for Ha Long City is a project by the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, said: From now until 2015, Quang Ninh will deploy wifi coverage to cities, towns, economic, commercial and tourism centers in the province such as Uong Bi, Cam Pha, Van Don, Mong Cai... to create highlights, attracting domestic and foreign investors and tourists. It is expected that the entire project could cost more than 200 billion VND, the main source of capital for implementation is capital from Vietnam Telecommunications Group and socialized sources. Along with Ha Long Bay officially becoming a natural wonder of the world, free wireless internet coverage and painting white boats for the fleet of tourist boats on the bay, Ha Long city is aiming to become a modern tourist city by 2015.
