US Congressman: Migration crisis exposes America's weakness
(Baonghean.vn) - In an interview with Fox Business, US Congressman Pat Fallon said that the meeting between US and Mexican officials to discuss the migrant crisis was "another shock exposing America's weakness". The congressman called on the president to put America first.
According to Congressman Fallon, in the first 34 months of the administration of former President Barack Obama, there were only 1.5 million illegal border crossings. Under former President Donald Trump, the number was 1.6 million. Meanwhile, under current President Joe Biden, there were 8 million.
US Congressman Pat Fallon said that the US President should show countries strength, not weakness, and "put America first, not last." According to Congressman Fallon, as long as the administration continues to ignore the country's problems and only "please other countries," the whole world will see America's weakness and take advantage of it.
In this context, Congressman Fallon believes that House Speaker Mike Johnson is the right person at the "right time, right job", standing firm on his stance of prioritizing the border issue, and cutting aid to Ukraine.
