Hanoi: Trees fell everywhere, one person died after heavy rain

Heavy rain and strong winds on the evening of June 4 caused many trees to fall in Hanoi. A taxi driver also died after being hit by a falling tree.

Specifically, at around 8pm on June 4, on Hung Vuong Street, the section running through Mai Xuan Thuong flower garden, a taxi with the Group logo was suddenly crushed by a large acacia tree. At that time, it was raining heavily outside.

Witnesses at the scene said that at the time, taxi number 3438 of Group was moving on Hung Vuong street when a rosewood tree suddenly fell across the road, crushing the taxi.

A large tree trunk lay across the front of the car, crushing it. The driver died on the spot. At that time, a female passenger in the back of the car was lucky to escape death but also suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Immediately after receiving the information, the authorities were present to saw the tree to free the car and the unfortunate victim.

Also in the evening, according to Vietnam+ reporters, due to heavy rain and strong winds, a series of trees were knocked down.

On Le Van Luong Street, nearly ten trees were blown down by the wind and fell along the sidewalk running towards Lang Ha.

At the Hoang Dao Thuy-Le Van Luong intersection, a large cluster of trees was also uprooted, blocking the entire road for traffic.

Notably, the tornado also collapsed a large wall of Thanh Xuan Vocational Training Center (Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi).
