The above incident happened at around 7:50 p.m. on September 8, at Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre, 57 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
According to some nearby residents, at around the same time, loud explosions and sparks were heard at house 57. The high-rise building was quickly engulfed in a "sea of fire."
The area where the fire broke out was right in front of Ngoc Son Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, so it attracted a large crowd of curious onlookers. At the time, a show for foreigners was taking place in the theater, so the incident became complicated.
About 15 minutes after the fire broke out, the people inside the theater and the crowd gathered in front of the theater were promptly evacuated by the authorities. Two fire trucks arrived at the scene to promptly extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to the surrounding areas.
According to observations, the fire scorched large sections of the facade wall of the Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre. The initial cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short circuit. The incident is currently being investigated by the authorities./.
