Hanoi: 3 households discovered growing opium poppies
The police of Phuc Tho district, Hanoi said that this unit is investigating the case of 3 households in Tich Giang commune growing opium poppies.
Previously, the authorities received information from the people that in Tich Giang commune, there were a number of households growing opium poppies.
Based on the information, on March 23, Phuc Tho District Police coordinated with Tich Giang Commune Police to conduct administrative inspections of a number of households.

Through inspection, the police discovered 3 households growing opium poppies, including: Khuat Huu Tung (born in 1945), confiscated 2 sacks containing 96 opium poppies weighing 19.5 kg and 1 glass jar containing flowers, fruits, leaves, and opium poppies soaked in alcohol; Nguyen Thi Chuyen (born in 1924), confiscated 1 sack containing 60 opium poppies weighing 6.5 kg; Kieu Thi Oanh (born in 1967), confiscated 2 sacks containing 191 opium poppies weighing 23 kg and 1 glass jar containing flowers, fruits, leaves, and opium poppies soaked in alcohol.
