Hanoi T&T won the U21 football tournament of Thanh Nien Newspaper
With a 2-0 victory over U21 Vinh Long in the final match at Lach Tray Stadium, U21 Hanoi T&T was crowned champion of the 2013 Thanh Nien Newspaper U21 Championship.
This is the first time Hanoi T&T team has won this title, a worthy reward for coach Duc Thang and his team.

Although rated much higher than their opponent, they still had to wait until the end of the first half for U21 Hanoi T&T to open the score when Minh Hai suddenly unleashed a dangerous long-range shot from outside the penalty area that hit Vinh Long's net.
This very important goal helped Hanoi T&T enter the second half with more excitement, while Vinh Long was forced to risk going up to find the equalizer.
In a fairly open match, Hanoi T&T scored a goal to increase the score to 2-0 when Van Tam was fouled in the 16m50 box. From the penalty spot, Van Thanh fired an accurate shot to seal the victory for the capital team.
Despite losing the match, U21 Vinh Long was also consoled with a series of secondary awards, including the title of Top Scorer and Best Player of the tournament awarded to player Tran Dinh Truong (3 goals). In addition, U21 Vinh Long also won the style award.
Coach Luong Trung Dan's team made a strong impression in this year's tournament after defeating host Hai Phong in the semi-finals to reach the final match for the first time, despite not being highly rated.
After 16 years, the final round of the Thanh Nien Newspaper U21 Football Championship has returned to the North. The tournament is one of many exciting activities of the port city during the National Tourism Year of the Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013.
