Hanoi: Temporarily detain Ms. Huong, owner of an online shop with revenue of 834 billion VND, for tax evasion
The Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency has detained Nguyen Thi Thu Huong (born in 1987, residing in Lang Ward, Hanoi) to investigate tax evasion, after discovering that her online shop had a revenue of more than VND834 billion but did not declare or pay taxes.
On July 10, the Hanoi Police Department of Investigation officially detained Nguyen Thi Thu Huong after a lengthy investigation. Previously, the Hanoi Police Department of Economic Police had discovered her unusual business activities.

According to the investigation results, from 2020 to present, Huong has sold many high-end goods such as accessories, handbags, watches, diamonds of world-famous brands including Versace, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Hermes and many other brands.
Ms. Huong has operated the sales system on many different channels, including:
Facebook fanpage account "Hyclothet – New things by hy"
Private sales group "Hycloset - Authentic Brands"
Zalo chat group "Vip Hycloset"
Huong's total revenue from business activities was determined to be more than 834 billion VND, but was not declared or taxed as prescribed, leading to tax evasion of more than 12.5 billion VND.
During the investigation, the Investigation Police Agency summoned Huong and 6 employees in charge of closing orders, packaging, checking messages and advertising. These subjects admitted to the violations.

On July 9, authorities conducted an emergency search of Huong’s residence, the livestream sales location, and the warehouse, seizing many high-end fashion products with an estimated total value of nearly 10 billion VND. Notably, most of the goods had no invoices, documents, or clear origins.
The case is being further investigated and clarified by Hanoi City Police for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
