Goals: Merlo 60', Duc Chinh penalty 80' - Minh Vuong 9'

HAGL had a favorable start in the opening match of the second leg of V-League 2018. In the 9th minute, Tran Minh Vuong took a free kick in the style of "falling yellow leaves" to put the away team ahead. This was the second consecutive match that the former U19 national midfielder scored from the free kick spot. In the previous round, Minh Vuong also scored against Quang Nam from a free kick situation from a distance of more than 20 meters.

Not only was Minh Vuong's free kick similar, the match's outcome also followed a similar path. HAGL took the lead but lost late in the match when the home team continuously pressured them in the second half.

Do Merlo equalized for Da Nang with a brave header. The Argentine striker ducked his head to finish when defender Kim Jin-seo raised his knee to clear the ball. Merlo had to leave the field immediately after scoring and may have broken his nose.

The Korean midfielder continued to be named in the situation where Da Nang scored the goal to seal the score 2-1. Referee Tran Dinh Thinh blew a penalty when he thought the ball touched Kim Jin-seo's hand in the 16m50 box despite the reaction from the HAGL player. Ha Duc Chinh did not miss the opportunity to score his sixth goal in the V-League this season, bringing victory to Da Nang.

In the final minutes, the audience at Hoa Xuan Stadium witnessed Da Nang players continuously lying on the ground. The referee had to repeatedly show yellow cards for the home team's time-wasting errors, as well as HAGL's reaction.

The defeat at Hoa Xuan Stadium has left HAGL without a win in the last four rounds, including three consecutive losses against Quang Ninh, Quang Nam and Da Nang. The team dropped from fourth to ninth on the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, Da Nang surpassed HAGL to climb to seventh place with 19 points, two points more than their opponent.
