Two brothers-in-law tragically drowned

(Baonghean.vn) - In hamlet 12, Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu district, two brothers-in-law (coc oach) in a family had a tragic drowning accident, the body of the older brother has not been found yet.

The two victims were Mr. Quan Minh Thanh (44 years old) and Mr. Nguyen Tri Cuong (30 years old), both sons-in-law of Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan. Mr. Hoan said, "Thanh's body has not been found yet. The family hired a boat and divers from the North to search from yesterday afternoon until this morning (April 30) but still have not found any results."

The two brothers who died in the accident lived next to each other. Cuong's house (the body was found inside and the funeral is being held) and Thanh's house was outside.

According to neighbors, on the afternoon of April 28, Mr. Nguyen Tri Cuong, the husband of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, had just gone to the mountainous district of Quy Hop for 3 days to drill rocks for a local business. When he was returning from work, he passed the spillway with a nephew. It was getting dark when the spillway suddenly released water periodically, and the water flowed rapidly. The nephew crossed first, so he reached the rock and escaped, while Mr. Cuong was swept away by the current. Panicked, the nephew ran back to the shack and called Mr. Quan Minh Thanh for help. Mr. Thanh came to the rescue and jumped into the whirlpool and was also swept away and disappeared. Upon receiving the news, the local authorities organized a search for the body. It was not until yesterday afternoon (April 29) that Mr. Cuong's body was found, but Mr. Thanh's body was still not found this morning (April 30).

The family has buried Cuong's body and continues to search for Thanh's body.
