Two police officers injured while arresting a fugitive who was stealing property

(Baonghean.vn)-On the afternoon of January 18, Mr. Vi Van Thuy, Chief of Police of Luong Minh Commune, Tuong Duong District, said that the district police had arrested Le Van Hung (31 years old, residing in Thanh Chuong District) - who had escaped a wanted warrant, stolen property, and then resisted law enforcement officers.

It is known that Le Van Hung was hiding from a wanted warrant but recklessly went to Tuong Duong district to steal motorbikes and property of local people. On January 13, Luong Minh commune police decided to arrest Hung while he was stealing motorbikes in Coi village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district.

During the arrest, Hung recklessly pulled out a knife and stabbed Lo Van Tuan (a permanent police officer of Luong Minh commune) and Ven Van Bien (a police officer of Luong Minh commune) in an attempt to escape. Bien suffered soft tissue injuries, while Tuan was stabbed in the lung and was transferred from Tuong Duong District General Hospital to Nghe An Provincial Friendship General Hospital for further emergency treatment.

Doctors and nurses have made great efforts to perform emergency surgery and care for Mr. Tuan. Currently, Mr. Tuan is continuing to receive care and treatment for his injuries at Nghe An General Hospital and his health is gradually recovering.

Mr. Thuy added that the property that Hung stole from the people has been recovered and returned to the people.
