Two Bodhi trees from Indian monastery planted in Vinh city
(Baonghean) -On the morning of December 22, 2010 in Vinh City (Nghe An), Venerable Thich Huyen Dieu (President of the Lumbini International Buddhist Federation) together with representatives of Vinh City government and a large number of Buddhist monks and nuns respectfully performed the ceremony of planting two Bodhi trees at the Temple of Emperor Quang Trung (in Quyet Mountain Park), and at Chung Mountain (simulated) in Ho Chi Minh Square.
These two Bodhi trees were propagated from the Bodhi tree at the Indian Buddhist Center (World Buddhist Center), and were brought back directly by Venerable Thich Huyen Dieu.
Before planting the Bodhi tree at Quyet Mountain Park and Ho Chi Minh Square, the Venerable and Buddhist monks and nuns offered incense and flowers at the Quang Trung King Temple and in front of the Ho Chi Minh President Monument.

At the two locations chosen to plant Bodhi trees, Venerable Thich Huyen Dieu and those who accompanied him respectfully performed the tree planting ceremony. The Venerable was moved and told everyone: After 40 years of living away from the Fatherland, Vinh City of Nghe An Province is the third place the Venerable has brought Bodhi trees back to the country to plant and give as gifts. Previously, the Venerable had planted Bodhi trees at the Hung King Temple (Phu Tho Province), and at Yen Tu Pagoda (Quang Ninh Province). The Venerable believes that in the future, the two Bodhi trees, kindly given by the homeland of world Buddhism, will continue to shine on the land of Nghe An.
