Two army soldiers died after being hit by a train in Dien Chau area.
(Baonghean.vn)- At 4:38 a.m. this morning, April 24, a tragic train accident occurred on the Thong Nhat railway line passing through Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An), killing two soldiers of the People's Army of Vietnam on their way to a new unit.
According to people who witnessed the incident, at the above time, 3 military officers and soldiers got off the van at km 412 on National Highway 1A to catch a bus to their new unit. While waiting for the bus, the two men stopped at the civilian level crossing at km 270 + 900 of Thong Nhat Railway to go to the toilet. At that exact time, the tourist train number NA1 on the Hanoi-Vinh route had just arrived and hit them head-on, killing both men on the spot. Immediately afterwards, the remaining soldier called the unit to inform them.

According to the victims' documents, the two deceased soldiers, Nguyen Van Trong (born in 1988), from Ha Nam, and Trinh Tien Dung (born in 1987), from Vinh Phuc, were on their way to receive new assignments at Brigade 215, stationed in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district.
The unit is currently carrying out procedures to bring the bodies of the two soldiers back to their hometown for burial according to regulations.
