Squadron 2, Nghe An Border Guard firmly protects the sea and islands
(Baonghean) -Nghe An has a total coastline of 82km with a sea area of 4,230 square nautical miles and 6 estuaries, which are favorable for maritime transport, fishing activities, and the development of marine economic strengths. Along with 4 coastal border posts, Nghe An Border Guard Squadron 2 is a force tasked with maneuvering at sea, maintaining sovereignty over territorial waters and border areas.
Implementing Resolution No. 4 of the 10th Central Committee on Vietnam's maritime strategy to 2020, along with Resolutions of the Party Committee of the Army, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, and Resolution No. 121 on improving the capacity to manage and protect the sea sovereignty of Nghe An Border Guard in the new situation, Squadron 2 always focuses on building a strong and comprehensive unit.
In 2010 and the first 6 months of this year, the Nghe An Border Guard Squadron 2 focused on consolidating patrol boats and building a regular, elite combat fleet at sea. The Squadron regularly maintains strict combat readiness regimes such as command duty, combat duty, troop and mobile vehicle duty in any situation, including flood and storm prevention, natural disaster mitigation, search and rescue in the border area. The reconnaissance force of the Squadron on duty at sea participated in hundreds of rounds with hundreds of reconnaissance days, firmly grasping the fishing ground situation, helping fishermen in the province feel secure in sticking to the sea to produce.
