Nghe An's two largest reservoirs maintain spillway to respond to storm No. 7
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Station, due to the impact of storm No. 7, Nghe An will experience heavy rain in the coming days. To ensure water regulation, the two largest reservoirs in Nghe An, Vuc Mau reservoir and Song Sao reservoir, will continue to maintain spillway discharge according to the process.

According to the report of Phu Quy Irrigation Company Limited, the current water level isSong Sao ReservoirNghia Lam commune (Nghia Dan) reached 74.57/75.7m. To respond to storm No. 7, from October 6, Song Sao reservoir discharged 1 spillway at 15 m3/s.
The spillway discharge process depends on weather conditions and water volume to Song Sao Lake. The company will operate the spillways according to approved procedures.
To ensure the safety of the reservoir, from October 5th to now, Vuc Mau reservoir (Hoang Mai town) has been releasing spills according to the process. Mr. Pham Hong Phu - Deputy Director of Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise said: Depending on the amount of water coming inVuc Mau Lake, flexible unit in operating spillway according to procedure, ensuring reservoir safety.
As on October 9, spillway gate No. 3 was opened, opening at 1.1 m, reaching 50 m3/s. At 7:00 a.m. this morning, October 10, spillway gate No. 2 was opened, opening at 0.4 m, reaching 16 m3/s. Currently, Vuc Mau reservoir has reached 20.25 m3. The unit will continue to monitor 24/7 to operate the spillway, ensuring the safety of the reservoir and the safety of the downstream area.
