Two people detained in connection with 'escape from hell casino'

On August 20, Le and Danh, 34 years old, were detained by the Security Investigation Agency of An Giang Provincial Police to investigate their behavior.Organizing illegal exit for others.
Initially, Le said that in May, a man (unknown origin) invited Danh to help smuggle people to Cambodia to work. She assigned Danh the task of picking up people who wanted to work, then taking them to the river wharf on the Vietnamese side. From there, Le took them to Cambodia to work at casinos. Both were paid 100,000 VND/person.
Among the 40 people working at a casino in Kandal province (Cambodia) who had to jump into a river to escape back to their country, 6 were taken by Le and Danh. The investigation agency is expanding the case, suspecting that Le and Danh have taken many workers who fell into the trap of "easy work, high salary" to the neighboring country.

According to Colonel Dinh Van Noi - Director of An Giang Provincial Police, the escaped victims said that more than 2,000 Vietnamese people were illegally sent to Cambodia to work at casinos. An Giang Provincial Police reported to the Ministry of Public Security, proposing to focus on synchronous investigation in provinces and cities for the Vietnamese people connecting with Cambodians to organize human trafficking.
Yesterday, An Giang Provincial Police worked with Kandal Provincial Police, requesting to inspect casinos, review all illegal workers being held at casinos to return them to Vietnam.

Two days ago, unable to bear the imprisonment and torture, 42 Vietnamese people working at a Cambodian casino risked their lives to fight back against the casino guards, jumped into the river and swam back to their country. 40 people escaped successfully, one person was swept away by the water and the body was found, one person was recaptured.
