Two Chinese pilots killed during training flight

The Chinese Navy said on May 26 that two of its pilots died during a training flight two weeks ago.

According to the Chinese Navy, the accident occurred on May 13. The two pilots died after the engine of the training plane caught fire in the sky over Liaoning Province, Northeast China.

When the plane's engine caught fire shortly after takeoff, the two pilots flew the plane away from the populated area.

There were only about 18 seconds from the time the engine was discovered to the time the plane crashed, so the two pilots did not have enough time and altitude to parachute out of the plane.

The Chinese Navy said the two pilots killed included a flight instructor and a student. The plane crashed into a forest./.
