Three famous Japanese warships, JS Hamagiri, JS Sawayuki and JS Asayuki, are present at Hai Phong port.

As part of the 39-day maritime training schedule of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, the three warships departed from Kanagawa port near Tokyo on March 17, visited an Indonesian port, and then docked at Hai Phong port on the morning of March 9.

On March 13, these three warships will leave Chua Ve port to continue their journey back to the Okinawa military base in southern Japan.

These are three famous Japanese warships equipped with short-range SAM air defense missile systems, anti-ship missile systems, anti-submarine torpedoes, many types of modern machine guns, and combat helicopters with rescue functions.

The warship JS Hamagiri has participated in anti-piracy missions in Somalia, joint exercises with the US Navy and many countries around the world.
