On the afternoon of April 18, a representative of the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province Police said that the Investigation Police had completed the autopsy and initially clarified the cause of the two deaths that occurred in Pieng Tat village, Muong Chanh commune, Muong Lat district.
The same morning, people in Pieng Tat village were startled to hear a loud explosion coming from the house of Pham Van Van (42 years old) and his wife Lo Thi Liem (38 years old). The first neighbors ran over and were shocked to discover that Van and his wife had died, with a flintlock gun next to them.
Through examination, authorities initially determined that Mr. Van used a gun to shoot his wife to death, then committed suicide.
The cause of the incident was that Mr. Van often drank alcohol and refused to work, so the couple often had conflicts. Mr. Van and his wife had 3 children, the two older children were married and living on their own; the 3-year-old child was living with his parents. It is known that before the heartbreaking incident happened, Mr. Van and his wife had a loud argument.
