On November 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea (MOTIE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam (MOIT) organized the Workshop "Introducing technology transfer of materials and components between Korea and Vietnam".

At the workshop, the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) introduced 100 advanced Korean technologies in the fields of supporting industries such as mechanical engineering, textiles, automobiles, electronics, etc. These technologies will be transferred free of charge to Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises, agencies, and research institutes in need in the cooperation program between the two countries. The technology transfer will be carried out in the form of a joint research cooperation project (R&D) between the two countries and the Korean government will fully support the funding for these R&D projects. The workshop is also an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to meet, exchange information, and strengthen cooperative relations.

Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing supporting industries between Vietnam and Korea, signed by MOTIE and MOIT on January 24, 2013 in Hanoi, Korea has been organizing training courses on supporting industry development policies and specialized training courses for Vietnamese students. Initially, Korea will transfer to Vietnam 30 technologies in the fields of electronics, automobiles, mechanics, and textiles. Next, Korea will hand over 100 technologies in the field of materials and spare parts (M&C) to Vietnamese enterprises to practically serve the production of supporting industrial products.
