South Korea supports Nam Dan farmers to grow autumn-winter peanuts

(Baonghean.vn) - This autumn-winter crop 2017, Nam Dan planted 10 hectares of TK10 super purebred peanuts in Nam Loc commune, arranged on a model field area, bringing high economic efficiency.

Previously, the 4 sao of alluvial land of Mr. Nguyen Van Dau's family in Hamlet 1, Nam Loc were all planted with corn, resulting in low economic efficiency. This year's autumn-winter crop, after being informed about the project program as well as directly participating in the training course, instructing on the technical process of producing TK10 peanuts, he registered to plant. Despite the production in unusual weather conditions, his family's peanuts still yielded high yields, reaching 140 kg of fresh peanuts/sao.

The new rural development project through the establishment of a peanut seed production and distribution system sponsored by the KOPIA Center aims to help people form new rural model villages following the new rural model village model of Korea.

Hamlet 1, Nam Loc commune, Nam Dan was chosen as one of three locations in Nghe An province to implement the project, attracting 56 households to participate with an area of ​​10 hectares using TK10 peanut variety produced by the North Central Agricultural Science and Technology Institute.

Participating in the project, people were directly instructed by the staff of the North Central Institute of Agricultural Sciences on peanut seed production technology, and 100% support was provided with seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. In reality, production was carried out under unusual climatic conditions, especially under the continuous impact of many storms and prolonged heavy rains, but thanks to the arrangement in high, sloping areas, sandy soil with good drainage; and applying the production process according to instructions, the peanuts grew well.

According to the project's results evaluation, each hectare yields over 24.6 quintals/ha, 4.6 quintals/ha higher than other peanut varieties. The profit from the TK10 seed production model compared to mass models is 19 million VND/ha.

Winter 2017 peanut crop on the land of hamlet 1 growing TK1 peanuts, produced on 10 hectares compared to the yield per unit area is 2.5 times higher than growing corn, therefore peanuts have higher productivity and efficiency.

Evaluating the effectiveness of TK10 peanut production in Nam Dan, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, an officer of the North Central Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, said: "This model, after being implemented in Hamlet 1, Nam Loc, has higher productivity and quality than in other localities, especially in the autumn-winter crop this year when the winter crop was started in Nam Loc, Nam Dan, the productivity and products were higher. The model will continue to be expanded, supporting people in the next 2 years and after that, people will propagate the seeds themselves."

The initial effectiveness of the TK10 peanut growing model is the basis for Nam Loc commune to make the most of the area of ​​the beach to continue expanding the area, turning peanuts into a commodity crop with high economic value, gradually affirming the effectiveness of applying science and technology, bringing many new varieties with high productivity and quality into production to increase the income value for rural residents according to the National target program on new rural construction./.
