A senior officer of the South Korean Marine Corps announced that the force will conduct a drill near the area of five islands bordering the inter-Korean border in the West Sea and is considering mobilizing equipment such as K-9 self-propelled guns for the exercise.
This is the second exercise this year to use the K-9 self-propelled gun.
Previously, on May 13 and 14, North Korea also conducted live-fire drills near the inter-Korean border in the West Sea.
