Hundreds of thousands of Syrians frantically flee IS
More than 130,000 refugees have poured into Turkey from Syria in recent days as the Islamic State (IS) extremist group reached the Syrian border city of Kobane.

According to VOA, Turkish authorities clashed with hundreds of Kurdish protesters, most of whom wanted to go to Syria to protect their fellow ethnic groups from massacre.
Kurdish fighters in northern Syria have tried to stop the advance of heavily armed IS militants.

Dalil Boras, 19, recorded the battle on his mobile phone. On September 21, he led his family across the Turkish border to safety. Dalil is now planning to return to Syria.

"The battle was extremely brutal because IS had 50 tanks. They controlled 50 villages and were advancing. IS killed everyone, children, women, any Kurds they said did not believe in Islam," the 19-year-old said.

The influx of refugees – 130,000 in just a few days – has forced Ankara to close some border posts. In the opposite direction, hundreds of Kurdish fighters, most of them from the separatist PKK group, have crossed into Syria to fight IS.
Authorities have tried to block and repel protesters who want to go to Syria to fight by firing tear gas and water cannons.
