Hyundai announces price of 2015 Genesis sedan

The Korean car maker's new 2015 Genesis sedan has finally arrived at UK dealerships, with the right-hand drive model going on sale from April 2.

Hyundai will offer the car in limited numbers at selected UK dealerships, with prices starting from £47,995 ($72,300).

The car uses a 3.8 V6 petrol engine with 311 horsepower and is more expensive than other traditional luxury cars, including the BMW 535i with 302 horsepower (£44,685) and the Audi A6 TDI SE with 316 horsepower (£45,300) diesel.

In the US market, the Genesis model using the 3.8 V6 engine has a price equal to the BMW 328i model ($38,000 excluding shipping and tax).

The Genesis sold in the UK will be available in three interior versions and seven paint colors. In addition, the car is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking, four cameras with 360-degree viewing angles around the car, bi-xenon headlights and a CO2 sensor system in the cabin - a system Hyundai claims is the first used in a car in the world./.
