In the same situation, the fishmeal processing factory in Dien Hung commune (Dien Chau) belonging to Xuri Viet - Trung Seafood By-product Processing Company Limited, with a capacity of 240 tons of raw materials/day, has stopped production, and over 120 workers have had to temporarily stop working.

Up to now, Nghe An has 10 fishmeal processing facilities for animal feed. Since 2015, these facilities have been operating very effectively, promptly collecting small fish for fishermen as well as creating jobs for over 400 local workers. However, due to the scarcity of raw materials since the beginning of 2017, most of the factories have had to close down or some are struggling to operate, at risk of bankruptcy.
According to experts, the cause of the bad harvest of trash fish is that fishmeal factories do not have raw materials.
