A series of Kia cars have reduced incentives since July 1st

From July 1, except for the Carens model, Thaco Kia will reduce incentives for all Kia models, both imported and assembled, with incentives reduced by up to 15 million VND compared to this June, depending on the model.

According to Thaco Kia's announcement, in July, Kia car buyers will still receive incentives, but the incentive value will be significantly reduced compared to this June. The highest discount of 15 million VND belongs to the Sorento, Rio 5-door, Cerato 5-door models, the incentives are only 45 million, 10 million and 10 million VND respectively.

Most of the remaining Kia models have a discount of 10 million VND compared to June, with the actual discount ranging from 10-28 million VND, depending on the model. Sportage and Optima have both reduced their discounts by 5 million VND, down to 20 and 25 million VND respectively, Morning has reduced its discount by 7 million VND, down to only 6 million VND. Only the Carens model retains its discount of 20 million VND.

Explaining this move to reduce incentives in series, Mr. Bui Kim Kha, Deputy General Director of Thaco (Truong Hai), said: "Recently, due to the increase in the USD exchange rate and many fluctuating market factors, Thaco was forced to adjust the price incentives for Kia cars in July to stabilize business operations. However, we only adjusted the price incentives, not the car prices. Therefore, customers buying Kia cars still receive the highest incentives of up to 60 million VND in June and up to 45 million VND in July."

It is known that Kia, one of the three passenger car brands exclusively distributed by Thaco, is currently ranked 2nd in the ranking of best-selling car brands in the Vietnamese market (according to VAMA). After 8 years in the market, Kia is increasingly affirming its brand value through product quality, many product options, and youthful, dynamic designs. Sales have increased month by month, with sales in the first 5 months of 2015 reaching over 6,900 units, an increase of 73% compared to the same period in 2014. Kia Morning, Kia K3, New Sorento, Kia Rio, Rondo and Optima are car models with strong sales growth in the past 5 months, contributing to continuing to bring the Kia brand to the 2nd position in VAMA.

If only counting the past May, Kia had an increase of 61% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,458 units. Kia Morning is the Kia model with the highest sales of the Kia brand in the Vietnamese market with 644 units, 70% compared to the same period last year. Coming in second is Kia K3 with nearly 300 units. Kia New Sorento, the main SUV model of the Kia brand, continues to be chosen by customers with sales of more than 110 units and cumulative sales reaching 600 units after the first 5 months of the year. In the imported car line, Kia Rio continues to be the car model welcomed by the market with more than 210 units sold, an increase of nearly 300% compared to the same period in 2014.
