Thousands of first graders in Nghe An will receive helmets

(Baonghean.vn) - The program with the theme "Keeping the dream" aims to raise people's awareness of complying with the mandatory regulation of wearing helmets when participating in traffic.

On the morning of April 12, Mr. Uong Viet Dung - Deputy Chief of Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee led a working delegation to work with functional agencies in Nghe An to discuss the program of giving helmets to children.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were leaders of the Department of Transport; Department of Education and Training and representatives of leaders of a number of related units.

According to Mr. Uong Viet Dung, the helmet donation program with the theme "Keeping the Dream", is sponsored by Honda Vietnam Company. The purpose of the program is that 100% of children entering grade 1 in the 2018-2019 school year nationwide will receive helmets that meet national technical standards.

“This program also aims to raise public awareness about complying with the mandatory regulation of wearing helmets that meet national technical standards for children when participating in traffic,” said Mr. Dung.

The delegation hopes that the authorities in Nghe An will soon make a detailed list of schools, addresses, and information on the number of students expected to enter grade 1 in the near future. It is expected that in August 2018, the sponsor will directly transport helmets to the schools.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Huu An said that this is a meaningful program, especially the Traffic Safety Year 2018 with the theme "Traffic Safety for Children". Relevant agencies in Nghe An also ensure to do well in stages such as statistics and addresses to support the program to be completed on schedule.
