Protesters supporting Mr Kaczynski marched in the capital Warsaw under the slogan "support democracy."
The election was plagued by problems such as computer errors that delayed the announcement of results and many ballots were declared invalid due to voters apparently being confused and marking the wrong ballots.
According to election results, Mr. Kaczynski's party won the most votes but held fewer seats in local legislative assemblies than the ruling Civic Platform party due to the way seats were divided.
