Thousands of people protest against the Ukrainian government
Protesters carried pro-Russian slogans, opposing US and European interference in Ukraine's internal affairs.
Yesterday (April 6), in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, about 2,000 people took to the streets to protest against the interim government in Kiev.
Protesters carried Russian flags with pro-Russian slogans, opposed US and European interference in Ukraine's internal affairs, rejected the legitimacy of the current interim government and boycotted the presidential election on May 25.

About 50 protesters broke through police lines and stormed an administrative building in the city of Donetsk.
“We are protesting against the government in Kiev. They don’t listen to us. The European Union doesn’t listen to us. I want the European Union to pay attention to this region,” said one protester.
The unrest in Ukraine erupted after protests against the government of former President Viktor Yanukovich postponed the signing of an association agreement with the European Union in November 2013. After Yanukovich was ousted, the interim government that was established in Ukraine showed a clearly pro-Western line, angering many Ukrainians, mainly living in the eastern part of the country, who have long supported close ties with Russia./.
