Thousands protest US President Trump's visit to Brussels

On May 24, thousands of people took to the streets of Brussels (Belgium) to protest the visit of US President Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump will attend the summit of leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) taking place today (May 25) in Brussels.

Speaking at a meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, US President Donald Trump emphasized that the US and Belgium need to focus on the most urgent issue at present, which is the rise of terrorism.

For his part, Prime Minister Michel agreed with the US leader’s views and reaffirmed the deep relationship between the two countries. According to the Belgian Prime Minister, the two leaders also touched on many other “important and sensitive” issues such as employment, economic cooperation and free trade.

Brussels is the next stop on Trump's first trip to Europe since taking office as US President. After Belgium, the White House boss will travel to Italy to attend the G7 Summit, held in Sicily./.
