Hundreds of "giant" ships worth tens of billions of dong owned by Nghe An fishermen
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An's fishing boats with a capacity of 400 CV or more are called large boats, but to be called "giant" boats, they must be over 700 CV. Hoang Mai town and Quynh Luu district are the two localities with the largest number of "giant" boats, fishing by purse seine, trawl, and 4-pole cast nets.
Fisherman Tran Thanh in Phu Lien hamlet, Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu) is the owner of a boat over 800 horsepower and is proud: Having a big boat with a big engine makes me feel secure every time I go out to sea, catching seafood is more effective, and working on the boat is less difficult because the boat is equipped with a hydraulic winch. Since having a big boat, almost every trip to sea is effective, and the income of the brothers is relatively high.
