Beautiful action of Private Nguyen Phu Nam

On the afternoon of October 16, 2014, on the way to increase production, he saw a wallet lying on the side of the road. When he picked it up and opened it, he saw 3,000,000 VND (Three million VND) and many important documents including an officer's ID card, insurance card, driver's license... Nam thought that this was the wallet of an officer in his unit; he ran back to give the wallet to the political commissar to find the owner and return it. The wallet belonged to Professional Lieutenant Dinh Bat Tu, an officer of the Division's Logistics Department. Before reading the leadership newspaper, the Company commander invited comrade Dinh Bat Tu to the unit to receive the wallet in front of 100 officers and soldiers in the unit.

Nguyen Phu Nam, Company 2, Battalion 15, Division 324, Military Region 4, is giving the wallet to the person who lost it.

Meeting us, Private Nguyen Phu Nam confided, “When I found the wallet, I saw that it contained a lot of money and important documents. Without hesitation, I ran back to give it to the officer to find the person to return it. I thought that when their property was lost, as well as mine, they would be very worried. The money in the wallet was not earned by me, so I could not spend it, but had to find someone to return it.”

Through research, we learned that Nguyen Phu Nam is from Hoang Thanh commune, Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa, his family has 3 brothers, Nam is the youngest. His father and mother are farmers, Nam's family is a poor household in the locality, he joined the army in the second batch in 2014. Lieutenant Dinh Bat Tu had just received 3 million VND in salary advance to prepare to bring home to buy medicine for his mother who was being treated in the hospital, but on the way home, he unfortunately dropped it. When he received the wallet with all the money and documents, he was very touched and thanked the officers and soldiers in the unit.

Talking to us, Captain Bui Huy Vy, Political Commissar of Company 2, Battalion 15 confided, "Since the day he joined the unit, Comrade Nam has always been confident in his work, strictly followed military discipline, and in his studies, Nam has always been diligent and hard-working. Many comrades who did not grasp the lessons well, Nam took the opportunity to guide and correct them, thereby helping many comrades study better."
