(Baonghean.vn) - When the authorities entered the tunnel of the Vietnam - Laos bus and took out nearly 200kg of firecrackers, many passengers realized that they were sitting and lying on the bus with the 'death god' and were terrified.

On July 10, the Cau Treo International Border Guard Station (Huong Son District, Ha Tinh) said that it had completed the dossier and handed over four subjects from Nghe An, including Ngo Sy Hung (26 years old), Tran Van Huy (28 years old), Nguyen Van Lieu (24 years old, all residing in Dien Thap Commune, Dien Chau District) and Le Dinh Khanh (38 years old, residing in Quynh My Commune, Quynh Luu District) along with the exhibits to Huong Son District Police to continue investigating and prosecuting the accused.

A reckless man used a sleeper bus (the backbone of a bus) to smuggle 189 kg of fireworks from Laos to Vietnam, but was discovered and arrested by border guards.

Previously, on July 7, Hung, Huy, Lieu, and Khanh were the drivers and assistant drivers of a sleeper bus with license plate UN - 6789 of Viet Hung (Nghe An), running the Dien Chau - Vientiane (Laos) route, accepting to transport 7 cardboard boxes of fireworks (weighing 189 kg with a price of 130,000 VND per box) to Vietnam.

To deceive the authorities, Hung and his subjects cut holes in 2 cabs (2 long, hollow square iron boxes that are the backbone of the car) near the car, to put fireworks in. Then, they spread a tight mattress on top and covered it with dozens of rice bags.

At about 10:45 a.m. on July 9, when the vehicle passed through Cau Treo International Border Gate, the Border Guard Station of Cau Treo International Border Gate, Cau Treo Customs and Huong Son District Police inspected and discovered that the fireworks were very cleverly hidden, so they arrested them.

The seized evidence included 189 kg of foreign-made fireworks. When the authorities entered the bus compartment and took out each bag of fireworks, many passengers realized that they had been sitting or lying on the bus with the "death god" and were terrified.

It is worth mentioning that earlier, on the morning of June 2, a passenger bus with a Lao license plate of Khanh Don (Nghe An) running from Tha Khet (Laos) to Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) carrying many firecrackers suddenly exploded about 10 km from Cha Lo international border gate.

The explosion completely destroyed the motorbike, killing 7 people from Nghe An and one from Nam Dinh on the spot, and injuring 3 others.

However, Viet Hung bus company did not take this as a lesson and continued to disregard passengers' lives, recklessly cutting the "backbone" of the bus to stuff illegal fireworks into it to transport back home.
