Passengers passing through Vinh Airport increased sharply on the occasion of April 30 holiday

(Baonghean.vn) - During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the number of passengers passing through Vinh Airport increased sharply.

According to Vinh Airport, during the holiday, there are an average of 40 takeoffs and landings per day. The peak is expected to be from April 29 to May 2, 2017, with 22,462 passengers (while the same period last year was 19,468 passengers), an increase of 30% compared to normal days.

While there is also a shift in the flow of air traffic during the Lunar New Year, before the New Year, passengers mainly return; conversely, after the New Year, passengers depart, on the occasion of April 30 and May 1, passengers depart and arrive are basically balanced. Accordingly, during these holidays, up to now, there have been 9,962 passengers booking departure tickets and 9,806 passengers booking arrival tickets.

The increased flights mainly focus on domestic routes Vinh - Ho Chi Minh, Vinh - Hanoi, Vinh - Da Lat, Vinh - Nha Trang, Vinh - Buon Ma Thuot, Vinh - Da Nang... and vice versa.

In the first 3 months of 2017, there were 3,486 flights arriving and departing, with 488,150 passengers. Of which, Vietnam Airlines had 492 flights, Vietjet 700 flights, Jetstar Pacific 432 flights and Vasco 119 flights.

To improve service quality and prevent traffic jams and overloads, Vinh Airport has implemented a series of solutions to arrange, organize, and streamline traffic to facilitate passengers arriving and departing in the Airport area; Strengthen inspection and supervision of runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas. Actively coordinate with units operating at the Airport to develop a plan to serve the peak season.
