Journey to find the truth about the Hoang Thien Long cult
Lesson 1: Confronting those who "convert" to religion
Information about the Hoang Thien Long cult came to Nghe An Newspaper from a farmer in Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. Over the phone, his voice was sad: “Because of this cult, we have lost all our brotherly affection. What kind of cult is this that is so perverse, daring to incite people to empty the altars of their ancestors and grandparents”…
The story is that the patriarch of the farmer's family in Nam Thanh commune "converted" to the Hoang Thien Long religion. The patriarch was propagandized by the people of this religion that the world is now full of evil spirits causing diseases, wars, storms and floods. To overcome this disaster, he must follow the religion founded by Mrs. Dien, and must abandon all the old altars and incense bowls and replace them with a new altar with only one incense bowl to worship together according to the "new life". Because of blindly believing, the patriarch threw all 9 incense bowls of his ancestors into the river, causing everyone in the family to be very upset and the brotherhood to be damaged. This farmer added that in Yen Thanh district, there are many believers, so the press needs to clarify to help people not be deceived by evil religions. He said: "Just go to Yen Thanh and you will see that the people are in turmoil because of evil religions...".

The "scripture" book of the evil sect Hoang Thien Long. |
In the role of a person whose old mother suffers from many illnesses and wants to come to the Hoang Thien Long religion, we approached people who "converted" to the evil religion in Yen Thanh district. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Y in Van Thanh commune is about 60 years old this year, lives alone with her young grandchild and has "converted" for nearly 2 years. When introduced to someone who wants to learn about "conversion", she was visibly excited. Leading us to see the altar, Mrs. Y solemnly bowed 3 times and then talked about herself, that she used to be constantly sick, knowing about the Hoang Thien Long temple, she went all the way to Bai Ha village, Hong Quang commune, Ung Hoa district to learn how to worship according to the "new life" so now her health is much better. Mrs. Y's altar is very unique. In the middle of the altar hangs a picture of Uncle Ho on a red cloth background simulating the Party and national flags. On both sides are a pair of parallel sentences with the words "Tam thien ky hoi nay da den; Y nhat trong nha khanh to toa". Below is an incense bowl, 3 cups of water, and 2 sets of flower lanterns. Mrs. Y explained that worshiping according to the "new life" only requires one incense bowl. This incense bowl worships Uncle Ho, heroic martyrs, and ancestors. Mrs. Y's voice was mysterious: The human world is now in chaos, there are countless ghosts and demons, so Uncle Ho has returned to command the heroic martyrs to quell the chaos. Uncle is now the President of the Vietnamese underworld, the leader of the 3 realms of Buddha, Saint, and God. Setting up an altar in a new way, then reciting the "broken heart" sutra regularly will be inspired by Uncle Ho, the spirit will be transmitted into 3 cups of water, then you drink it to cure all diseases... When asked about the method of worship, Mrs. Y said that you need to throw away all the old worship items, then set up a new altar and emphasized: "Remember to get rid of all the Chinese items, things with Chinese characters, otherwise Chinese ghosts will come and disturb the sacredness...". Then Mrs. Y took out a bunch of books called "scriptures" and introduced these "works" were composed by "teacher" Dien who was inspired by Uncle Ho to instruct the people on how to follow the "new life". "I will invite the group leader here to explain more clearly so you can understand..." - saying that, Mrs. Y took out her cell phone and called a woman named H.
After about 15 minutes, Mrs. H was present. Mrs. H was also over 60 years old, short and stocky but agile and active. Mrs. H generously asked us about the origin of the religion they were following. Like Mrs. Y, Mrs. H was very happy. Mrs. H explained: Talking about Hoang Thien Long religion means talking about the "Ho Chi Minh Spirituality" religion. "Master" Dien in Ung Hoa district, Hanoi City was inspired by Uncle Ho, and he wrote a poem called "Doan Trang Tam Phap Tu Gia" which tells about the past, the future and guides people on how to overcome suffering. After finishing writing the scripture, "Master" built a temple to worship Hoang Thien Long to replace Uncle Ho to instruct people...''. Mrs. H excitedly read a few very funny "bamboo pen" poems and said: Uncle Ho's religion is very spiritual. Anyone who wants to "return" is welcome... Question: If our mother "returns", what needs to be done? According to Mrs. H, "returning" is quite simple, just "she" needs to go to Hoang Thien Long temple to announce the names of everyone in the family before Uncle Ho, then buy worship items to replace the old altar, buy "sutras" to read and it will be recognized. Is it very expensive? Mrs. H said: In addition to the cost of going, buying worship items and "sutras" costs about 600-700 thousand VND, the "returning" ceremony depends on the heart, 100-200 thousand VND or 500-1 million VND depending on sincerity.
- But what if our mother is old and weak and cannot ride a bike?
- If so, I will introduce you to "Miss" Thuy, she will have a way to help.
- What kind of person is "Miss" Thuy?
- "She" is the representative of "teacher" Dien in Nghe An. If you need anything, please contact "teacher" for guidance. In case "you" in our house cannot go, "she" will write down your name and address and call the phone number so that "teacher" can inform Uncle that "you" has asked for "rule", which will also be effective...

"Miss" Thuy (the one carrying the bag), representative of the Hoang Thien Long cult in Nghe An. |
"Miss" Thuy lives near Roc market, in Doi Cung cultural village, Trung Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. "She" is small, agile and with a Northern accent, "she" shows that she is a person with the ability to "preach", preaching very well about the religion of "teacher" Dien. "She" said: "Teacher" is inspired by Uncle Ho so he can "collect" evil spirits and cure all diseases. Writer Le Luu and even doctors in the US also came to listen to "teacher" preach. "Teacher" also transferred "scriptures" to the Institute for Human Potential Research for research. I follow "teacher" for the same reason. And "she" said: "My husband and I lived in Russia for ten years. He is from Nam Dinh. After returning home, he suddenly became mentally ill. He was treated in many places, until he ran out of money, but he was not cured. I followed several "doctors" but it did not work. He destroyed every altar I set up, and once he even threw the incense bowl in an unclean place, which was extremely miserable. Then someone out of pity told me that following "doctor" Dien could cure my husband's illness. I listened to him and tried it, and sure enough, my husband was cured. Not only that, Uncle Ho also showed him how to write poetry...".

Returning to the story of our old mother who wanted to "retreat", "Miss" Thuy brought out a sutra titled: "Doan Trang Tam Phap Tu Gia" and some DVDs and said: "You guys just bring the "sutra" and DVDs home for "her" to see. If "she" is determined to "retreat", then bring "her" to the shrine to be effective". At the same time, "Miss" instructed: We must discuss and reach an agreement with everyone in the house. Only when everyone is "consistent" will it be successful.
- If "you" want to be "reformed", how can you get electricity?
- On July 21 (lunar calendar), everyone will make a pilgrimage to Kim Lien to offer incense to Uncle Ho. Then on July 24 (lunar calendar), they will continue their pilgrimage to Hoang Thien Long shrine. On that day, please contact the group in Ha Tinh so that "he" can go with you.
- You said we are in Ha Tinh but we are near Vinh City. I wonder if there is a group going from Vinh?
- Vinh's group is very large. If so, you can contact Ms. Nguyet's number to go with Vinh's group.
Working with the Trung Thanh commune government (Yen Thanh), it turned out that the local officials also knew a lot about the Hoang Thien Long cult. According to Mr. Tran Thuong Hoang - Secretary of the commune Party Committee, "Miss" Thuy (Tran Thi Thuy) used to be a citizen of the commune, the daughter of two party members with 40 years of party membership, who passed away a while ago due to illness. Thuy went abroad, got married and then returned to live in Block 1, Rang Dong Town, Nghia Hung District, Nam Dinh Province. Thuy's husband had a mental illness, Thuy often said that he had recovered, but when he returned to his mother's hometown, he still showed signs of illness. The commune knew what Thuy did and had ordered her not to spread the cult in the area. However, Trung Thanh used to have about 27 households following the cult, and some households left because they didn't get any benefits from following it, and some people even nearly died because they didn't go to the hospital for treatment... "They know it's a cult, but they set up an altar with a picture of Uncle Ho, so it's very difficult. We are hoping that our superiors will give us clear instructions..." - said the Party Secretary of Trung Thanh commune.
Mr. Tran Thuong Hoang reflects on the penetration and influence of evil religions.
