Goals: Griffiths (87', 90') - Chamberlain (70'), Kane (90'+3).

England came to visit their Scottish neighbours as the favourites. This was demonstrated by the Three Lions with Oxlade-Chamberlain opening the scoring in the 70th minute. The Arsenal midfielder came off the bench and only took a few minutes to make his mark with a breakthrough and a shot into the Scottish net.

However, the home team fought back strongly in the final minutes with the brilliance of striker Leigh Griffiths. The striker, who plays for Celtic, scored two consecutive goals from the free kick spot in the 87th and 90th minutes. Goalkeeper Joe Hart had to make do with Griffiths's masterpieces when he went into the net to pick the ball out from two different angles. The first kick from 25 meters, Griffiths kicked Joe Hart's left corner and the second from 30 meters was on the right corner.

Two fine goals from Scotland almost ensured a surprise comeback victory. However, the home side could not hold on to their advantage in the final minutes. England equalised with Harry Kane's close-range strike after Sterling's well-placed cross from the left.

This is a very meaningful goal for the Tottenham striker because this match is the first time Kane has captained the England team. The striker, who was the top scorer in the Premier League last season, represents the new generation of the Three Lions under coach Gareth Southgate.

The draw in Scotland was enough to keep England at the top of Group F with 14 points after six games. However, the gap between second-placed Slovakia and third-placed Slovakia was reduced to two points after their opponents won in Lithuania.

Kane's goal also helped England maintain their unbeaten run in major tournament qualifiers to 35 matches. The foggy country won 29 matches and drew nine during this period.
