(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of November 20, the Que Phong District Forest Protection Department discovered a quantity of po mu wood hidden at the home of Mr. Ha Van Tien, Na Sai village, Hanh Dich commune - Que Phong.

Immediately after that, the Department decided to search and temporarily detain all of the above wood with 70 wooden slabs, volume of 3.5 m³Currently, the District Forest Protection Department is continuing to investigate and clarify the origin of the wood for handling.

3.5 cubic meters of po mu wood were temporarily detained by Que Phong forest rangers for further investigation.

In addition, since the beginning of the year, Que Phong Forest Protection Department has also seized 388.2 m³timber of all kinds, administrative fines and sale of forest products worth 2 billion 867 million VND, confiscated 33 motorbikes. Notably, in the past 2 months alone, the District People's Committee established an interdisciplinary team to hunt down and expel illegal logging and transportation of forest products, confiscating 157 m³wood of all kinds. Therefore, the situation of illegal logging and transportation of wood in the district has decreased significantly.
