UNESCO removes Xoan singing from the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding

At 10:52 local time (8:52 Vietnam time) on December 8, 2017, at the 12th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage 2003 held in Jeju, South Korea, the Phu Tho Xoan singing heritage was officially removed from the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding by UNESCO and listed on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Xoan singing is a world intangible cultural heritage.

According to information from the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, at 11:30 Vietnam time on November 24, UNESCO voted to recognize Xoan singing as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.
