In 2015, Phu Tho Xoan singing became a cultural heritage.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a document to the Prime Minister requesting approval of the Project on Preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection of humanity - Xoan singing of Phu Tho (Phase 2013 - 2020).
Accordingly, the general objective of the Project is to continue to preserve, transmit, disseminate and promote to future generations the unique social and humanistic values, good customs and practices of Xoan singing associated with the Hung King worship belief. Raise awareness and pride in the community, the responsibility of generations, especially the young generation, in preserving and promoting the cultural values of Xoan singing. Gradually preserve and promote the values of Xoan singing to become a typical spiritual and cultural tourism product, contributing to promoting economic - cultural - social development in Phu Tho province.

The specific objective of the Project is to strive by 2015 to remove Phu Tho Xoan Singing from the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection and make it a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; by 2015, train the next generation of artisans in the original Xoan guilds to succeed the current generation of elderly artisans in teaching the younger generation in the community; the rate of people who know Xoan Singing, including youth, teenagers, and children (people under 30 years old) in the original Xoan guilds by 2015 will reach 40%; by 2020, the rate will reach 70%.
From 2015 to 2020, focus on investing in the restoration and rehabilitation of 5 relics in the original Xoan wards in Viet Tri city, restoring traditional Xoan singing festivals and customs to build a Xoan singing cultural space associated with the Hung King worship belief; continue to invest in the restoration and rehabilitation of the remaining relics in the original Xoan wards, support against degradation of the relics and restore traditional Xoan singing customs in the relics where Xoan singing is widespread. At the same time, 100% of those who have contributed to preserving, maintaining and teaching Xoan singing are honored and enjoy preferential treatment according to regulations.
In addition, the Project also sets out the tasks of restoring, preserving, teaching and practicing; collecting, researching, inventorying, documenting and digitizing; promoting, disseminating and honoring heritage; educating Xoan singing in schools; enhancing the role and responsibility of all levels, sectors, social organizations and professional associations in protecting and promoting the value of Phu Tho Xoan singing and the capacity to practice and manage heritage for the Xoan singing community; restoring relics, restoring Xoan singing performance spaces associated with the Hung King worship; establishing the Center for Conservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage Values of Phu Tho Province; promoting the value of Xoan singing and Hung King worship in tourism and service development activities through performance activities at Xoan singing wards and Xoan singing relics associated with the Hung King worship; Strengthening the participation of Xoan singing in international exchanges on intangible cultural heritage.../.
