More than 80% of iOS apps are suffering from basic security flaws. |
According to the findings of security experts at Veracode, most mobile applications have basic security flaws such as not being able to authenticate the reliability of security certificates, using weak data encryption algorithms and even storing sensitive information as plain text data (unencrypted). According to the assessment, these basic security flaws should have been fixed by developers soon to focus more on protecting users.
Currently, not only mobile applications face basic security problems, but also web-based applications have been discovered by Veracode to be capable of turning users into victims of data theft attacks. Specifically, this security company has pointed out the programming languages that are facing security risks including PHP, ColdFusion and Classic ASP. Fortunately, Java and .NET are still highly reliable web development languages.
