Hau Thanh (Yen Thanh): Reducing damage due to short-term rice variety structure

(Baonghean) -This summer-autumn crop, Hau Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district has 90 hectares of rice, 1/3 of which is the short-term VL20 rice variety, so despite heavy rain in recent days, crop damage has been significantly reduced.

Located in the fields of the Vach Bac region, every year, the summer-autumn rice here is often damaged by floods. However, thanks to the new rice variety structure, by early September, the entire VL20 rice area had ripened. With the motto "green at home is better than ripe in the fields", before the heavy rains occurred, farmers rushed to the fields to harvest rice to avoid the floods.

Thanks to this prolonged heavy rain, Hau Thanh commune only flooded about 60 hectares of summer-autumn rice and other rice varieties.
