(Baonghean.vn) - On July 17 and 18, the People's Council of Hung Nguyen district, term 18, 2011 - 2016, held its 12th session to assess the socio-economic situation, national security and defense in the first 6 months of the year and deploy the plan for the last 6 months of the year, deciding on a number of important issues within the People's Council's authority.

In the first 6 months of 2015, although there were still many difficulties, diseases and pests on crops, and severe drought from the end of spring until now, affecting production and people's lives, with the efforts of the entire political system, all levels of sectors and people, the district's socio-economic situation still achieved positive results. The total production value at comparable prices in 2010 is estimated at nearly 1,900 billion VND, up 6.7% over the same period in 2014 and reaching nearly 50% of the plan. Budget revenue reached over 31 billion VND, up 16% over the same period and reaching 39.3% of the estimate assigned by the District People's Council. Foreign affairs and investment attraction activities continued to be strengthened and had many improvements. The total value of construction investment volume reached 426 billion VND; Important projects such as VSIP6, Vinh-Hung Nguyen 72 meter road, Hoang Muoi Temple, Le Xuan Dao road... are being focused on site clearance and construction.

The national target program for new rural construction continues to be promoted, with people actively responding, especially the 6 communes that registered to reach the 2015 finish line. In the first 6 months of the year, 33.5 km of roads, 1.5 km of irrigation canals and 31 works of various types have been built. Up to now, on average, each commune has achieved 12 criteria, an increase of more than 2 criteria compared to the same period.

There have been many positive changes in social culture. In the first 6 months of the year, 2 more multi-functional communal cultural houses and 17 standard hamlet cultural houses have been built. During the school year, 2 more high schools and 1 kindergarten have met national standards. The 9th grade team participating in the excellent student competition ranked 11th in the province. Medical examination and treatment have been taken care of, preventing epidemics from occurring in the area. Social policies, job creation, poverty reduction and social security continue to have many positive changes. 6 vocational training classes have been organized for 210 rural workers; jobs have been created for 1,200 workers. The poverty rate has decreased to 5.65%.

Administrative procedure reform and anti-corruption work continue to receive attention and direction. Security and order are maintained, inspection, public reception, and petition handling are regularly focused on and implemented.

In the last 6 months of the year, strive for a total production value of 1,900 billion VND; total basic construction investment capital of 507 billion VND; Budget revenue in the area of ​​48,070 million VND, on average each commune achieves 2-3 more NTM criteria and 4-5 more communes meet NTM standards. Create new jobs for 1,800 workers; the poverty rate decreases to 5.65%; 2-3 more schools meet national standards and 3-4 communes meet national standards in health care, 522.2% of communes have cultural institutions meeting national standards, 85% of families meet cultural standards.

At the meeting, delegates listened to reports and considered a number of proposals to approve the labor export project and adjust and supplement the socio-economic development plan of Hung Nguyen district until 2020.
