For Nam Thanh commune, in the process of building a new rural area, vocational training, job creation, and income improvement for farmers have been focused on by the local leadership and direction. The commune Party Committee has issued a specialized resolution and the commune People's Committee has issued a project, plan, and established a steering committee to organize implementation, thereby raising awareness of vocational training among cadres and people.

In 4 years (2011-2014), 99 people in the commune attended vocational colleges and secondary schools. The locality also coordinated with vocational schools to open 7 vocational training classes for 190 workers, including auto repair, welding, carpentry, agricultural machinery, breeding techniques, etc.; organized training courses, fostered knowledge of animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, cultivation and some occupations based on the introduction of new economic models such as mushroom growing, watermelon growing, chili pepper growing for export for 545 workers. In addition, about 500 workers were trained in industrial sewing to serve garment companies in the district and other provinces in the country, and also participated in labor export. Vocational training is linked to specific economic programs and models implemented locally, thanks to which vocational training is quite effective. The rate of trained workers is over 30%, and trained workers with jobs is over 95%.
