Provincial People's Council supervises the work of receiving people and resolving complaints and denunciations in Dien Chau

(Baonghean.vn) -Implementing the plan to monitor the results of the work of receiving people, handling complaints and denunciations in the province, on the morning of April 11, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council led by Mr. Tran Van Mao - Standing Member of the Provincial People's Council, conducted a monitoring visit to the work of receiving people, handling complaints and denunciations in Dien Chau district. Also participating in the monitoring delegation were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Inspectorate.

Through monitoring, it is shown that the work of receiving citizens, resolving complaints and denunciations of citizens has been paid attention to by the Party Committee, the government and the entire political system in Dien Chau. The results of receiving citizens in 2 years (2012 - 2013) were 651 times with a total of 807 people. In general, the basic activities of receiving citizens were carried out in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the law, demonstrating a serious and responsible attitude in listening, explaining, guiding and transferring petitions of the officials participating in receiving citizens. Also in 2 years, the total number of petitions was 301, of which the most were reflection petitions with 171 petitions, second were complaints with 101 petitions and 29 denunciation petitions. Through classification, only 209/301 petitions were eligible for processing, of which 117 petitions were under the authority of the Chairman of the District People's Committee to resolve.

As a result of handling complaints and denunciations, 68/69 cases have been resolved and 1 is under the resolution period under the district's authority. Through handling complaints and denunciations, the authorities have recommended the economic recovery of more than 363 million VND; administratively handled 4 individuals. The district has also paid attention to the inspection and examination of citizen reception activities, handling complaints and denunciations of citizens in a number of agencies and units and has issued 12 inspection and examination conclusions, contributing to rectifying and enhancing the responsibility of heads of agencies and units in this work.

The representative of the Provincial People's Council's Petition Office requested the district to clarify a number of complaints and denunciations by citizens.

However, currently, in Dien Chau district, there are still 40 cases that have been resolved within the authority and in accordance with the law, but citizens still send petitions and complaints to the authorities; or there are cases under the authority of the sectors and the province.

At the end of the supervision, Mr. Tran Van Mao suggested that Dien Chau district strengthen the "3-sided 1-time" dialogue to end the situation of continuing complaints and denunciations for cases that have been resolved within the authority and in accordance with the law. Strengthen the propaganda and dissemination of the law through many channels such as trial, execution of judgments, and through the system of local agencies. Pay attention to post-resolution of complaints and denunciations and implement cases under the authority of the district People's Committee. The district also needs to direct agencies and units in the political system to proactively develop a plan to implement the Law on Citizen Reception, which will take effect from July 1, 2014.
