Provincial People's Council supervises the environment at Thai Duong foreign pig breeding farm

(Baonghean) -This afternoon, April 17, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial People's Council led by Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, directly supervised the actual situation at Thai Duong foreign pig breeding farm and Dai Son commune, Do Luong district. Also accompanying were representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Do Luong district.

Through monitoring, it is shown that Thai Duong Foreign Pig Farm has gradually implemented environmental treatment measures according to the directives of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The enterprise has invested in installing 2 wastewater collection lines from the barns to reservoirs and a waste treatment system using aeration technology before discharging into the environment. Therefore, the current air and wastewater pollution situation has been basically resolved. Currently, the enterprise is focusing on renovating 2 biogas tanks to dredge waste from these 2 tanks that have not previously followed the correct technical process for waste treatment. According to the enterprise's commitment, by May 30, 2012, the unit will complete the waste treatment according to standards and reduce the total herd to 5,000 pigs (currently over 8,000 pigs).

On behalf of the monitoring delegation, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh requested the enterprise to strictly comply with the directives of all levels and sectors, and at the same time speed up the waste treatment process, fulfilling the spirit that the enterprise has committed to.

The biggest concern of the people is that the pollution has previously seeped into the soil and water sources, causing many difficulties in their lives and production, affecting their health due to pollution seeping into the soil and water sources. Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh shared the difficulties that the people are facing, and at the same time asked the people to comply with the law and stay calm so that the authorities and sectors can gradually resolve the pollution problem at Thai Duong Pig Farm.

On this occasion, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh visited and gave gifts to Mr. Hoang Van Hai, in hamlet 9, Dai Son commune, who is seriously ill.
