Provincial People's Council surveys the situation of handling complaints and denunciations in Hung Nguyen

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 6, the Provincial People's Council conducted a survey on the settlement of complaints, denunciations and petitions of citizens in Hung Nguyen district.

It can be said that the work of resolving and handling citizens’ complaints, denunciations and petitions in the past time has been carried out by the People’s Committee, relevant departments and offices of Hung Nguyen district in an equal, democratic, resolute and lawful manner. However, in the district, there are still 6 cases of complaints and denunciations of citizens that have been pending for a long time and have not been resolved.

The survey team worked with leaders of Hung Nguyen District People's Committee.

In the morning, the survey team of the Provincial People's Council went to the grassroots to listen to the opinions, exchanges and recommendations of the people and organizations related to the backlog of cases in the area. Based on the practical situation, the functions and powers of each level and each competent sector were clearly defined so that the survey team could conclude and make recommendations, assigning responsibilities to the levels and sectors to propose solutions to promptly resolve the long-standing backlog of cases in Hung Nguyen district.

In the afternoon, the delegation listened to the district leaders and specialized departments report on the specific situation of the cases as well as the results of the district's resolution. It was affirmed that the backlog of cases had been resolved by the district in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the law and within its authority and responsibility. However, citizens still did not agree with the above results, leading to prolonged complaints and going beyond the level.

In his concluding remarks, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Comrade Tran Van Mao affirmed: Based on the reality and information collected through citizens' feedback and reports from the district, the delegation will receive and notify the survey results and recommend competent authorities to thoroughly resolve the cases. On the district side, it is necessary to actively propagate, dialogue, and explain to the people to fully and thoroughly understand the provisions of the law, raise awareness of law enforcement, ensure political security and social order and safety, and create high consensus among the people.
