Nghe An Provincial People's Council convenes extraordinary session

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of Local Government and practical requirements of the province, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council decided to convene the 13th session of the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term. This is an extraordinary session decided by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, the session will open at 8:00 a.m. on March 18, 2020. At the session, the Provincial People's Council will conduct personnel work within its authority. Including implementing the process of dismissal and election of additional positions of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term; election of additional positions of members of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.

Also at this session, the Provincial People's Council will consider and discuss and approve 3 thematic resolutions. Including: Resolution approving the list of works and projects requiring land acquisition in Clause 3, Article 62 of the Land Law; Resolution on changing the purpose of using rice-growing land, protective forest land, and special-use forest land as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 58 of the Land Law to implement investment projects in the province; Resolution on the policy of changing the purpose of using forests to other purposes to implement works and projects in the province.

The adopted resolutions will be the legal basis, creating favorable conditions for the Provincial People's Committee in directing, managing and operating to ensure good implementation of economic development policies and ensuring social security in the province.

The session will open and close on the morning of March 18.
