Revealing new treatment directions for children with autism
According to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States on June 17, in children with autism, the connection between brain regions related to the ability to express language and emotions is very limited.
This new discovery is hoped by scientists to open up a new treatment direction for autistic children, a disease that is becoming increasingly common in today's modern society.

Experts conducted brain scans of 20 severely autistic children, who had average IQs and could speak and read but had difficulty communicating and expressing emotions. Comparing the brain scans of 19 normal children, the researchers found that in the children with the disease, the ability to connect between brain regions was very poor.
According to Stanford University psychiatry professor Vinod Menon, head of the research team, poor brain connectivity in autistic children is the cause of limiting their ability to speak and express emotions.
Autism is a complex disorder of human development. It involves abnormal brain development and behavior that manifests before the age of 3 years and has an unabated course. The characteristic manifestations of the disease are impaired communication and social reflexes, as well as restricted and repetitive behaviors; the characteristic is the independence of any neurological deficits below the normal level.
Many causes have been proposed but the cause is not yet fully understood. Genetic mechanisms contribute to about 90% of the chance of autism developing in children but the genetics of autism is complex and is usually pointed to the corresponding genes.
In some rare cases, autism is linked to birth defects. In addition, many cases believe that autism is caused by harmful effects of vaccination./.
